The Detailed Itinerary – 4 Days Uganda gorilla tour
Day 1: Pick up & Transfer to Bwindi Forest (by Road)
Early in the morning, you will meet a professional driver guide from Rivo Safaris to take you through today’s program. After the briefing, your driver guide will assist you pack the luggage safely and later, expect to begin your long day journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Today, we drive via the Masaka-Mbarara-Kabale route, which is likely to take about 8-9 hours, but expect lots of captivating things en –route.
En route, you will have a moment to take photographs at the Equator crossing. Lunch break will be served on arrival at the Igongo Cultural Centre, and from here, you will continue to the far Southwestern Uganda. On arrival at Bwindi, check into the lodge in/near the park that Rivo Safaris pre-booked for you.

Day 2: Go trek with mountain gorillas & Batwa pygmy community visit
Enjoy an early morning breakfast, and after, meet the driver guide for you to transfer to the park trailheads/briefing centre. Get to know the guidelines for gorilla trekking and a gorilla group to be trekked. Expect to be allocated an experienced armed park ranger guide attached to Bwindi National Park. By around 8:00 am, you will continue on the actual trek with a gorilla group in Bwindi and expect to spend 2-6 hours.
After the long day trek and when you come across a group of gorillas, you enjoy strictly 1 hour while watching these apes as they copulate, feed, bond, and display many amazing gestures. You will be expected to return to the briefing point to get your certificate and then proceed back to the camp/lodge.
After the relaxed afternoon, meet the guide who then will take you to visit the Batwa community. While in the Batwa community, expect a myriad of things, but mostly exploring more about the distinct lifestyles of the Batwa pygmies as the historical hunters and gatherers. Get to know how they have coped with life outside the ancient jungle, and never miss the inspirational cultural dances & music as showcased energetically by the Batwa themselves.

Day 3: Bwindi –Lake Bunyonyi, afternoon/sunset boat/canoe ride.
After a sumptuous breakfast, check out of the Bwindi accommodation, and your driver will transfer you to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale. The scenic Lake Bunyonyi contains up to 29 tropical islands that make it one of the most spectacular natural lakes in Uganda and Africa. Access to Lake Bunyonyi from Bwindi can take bout 2-3 hours and on arrival, you will be dropped off to the nearby resort for a short relaxation moment and also for you to be offered lunch.
Leave the resort for a late afternoon boat/canoe ride traversing the scenic water and while observing the lush islands plus terraced hills in the surrounding. After a memorable canoe ride, you will get back and have the entire evening to yourself in the boutique resort overlooking the Lake.
