The Detailed Itinerary – 7 Days Uganda gorilla safari
Day 1: Arrival & pick up at Entebbe by Rivo Safaris Ltd
On arrival at the Entebbe Airport, you will be safely picked up by a professional driver guide from Rivo Safaris. From the airport, you will transfer to the pre-booked boutique hotel for relaxation and a briefing from our company representative.

Day 2: Leave Entebbe for Kibale NP, Bigodi Wetland nature walk
After a hefty breakfast, you will drive to Kibale National Park to start your primate adventure in Uganda. You will be accompanied by an experienced driver from Rivo Safaris and expect to access Kibale in a 6-hour drive. En route to Kibale, you will enjoy lunch in a restaurant in Fort Portal city and later continue to Bigodi for a guided nature/swamp walk. Along the Bigodi wetland trail, you will be exposed to a diversity of primates like colobus monkeys, olive baboons, and vervet. Birds –over 138 species of birds make Bigodi a valuable birding spot, and you expect to observe several of them during the guided walk.

Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking & drive to Queen Elizabeth Park, en route visit to Kikorongo Equator monument
Early in the morning, you will leave for the Kanyanchu tourist center for a briefing on chimpanzee trekking guidelines. Kibale offers relatively moderate treks, with your morning session expected to go for 2-4 hours. This covers an hour for observing how chimpanzees behave or interact in their community. As you walk to and from Kibale Forest, expect to come across other primates, colorful butterflies, birds, and useful plant species that are of medicinal significance. Once you have returned, settle at the lodge and enjoy lunch, then you will check out.
Drive off from Kibale National Park in Kabarole to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Before you reach the lodge, you will have a stopover at the Kikorongo Equator monument. Take pictures at the new Equator monument and later, have a safe connection road trip to your lodge.

Day 4: Experience a Game Drive –Boat Cruise safari
Enjoy an exciting morning game drive through the Kasenyi plains with an experienced guide. Embark on the search for savanna wildlife and expect to come across lots of buffalo herds, antelopes, elephants, hyenas, and abundant species of birds. Return and have a leisurely lunch at the camp/lodge, and in the afternoon, you will conclude the day with a memorable Kazinga boat excursion. On the Kazinga boat ride, you will observe most of the hippos, Nile crocodiles, and water birds. The remaining time after the boat cruise will be for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Departure for Bwindi through Ishasha
Have a tasty cup of coffee or tea and then, check out of the accommodation option. Later, our driver guide will transfer you to the next destination, Bwindi, and getting there will involve driving via Ishasha plains. At Ishasha, a brief game viewing will be enjoyed to let you catch a glimpse of some of the lazily lying tree-climbing lions in the fig tree branches and you continue to Buhoma region.

Day 6: Gorilla trekking & the Batwa
After a delicious breakfast, depart from the lodge to start the day in Bwindi National Park, and today, you will concentrate on trekking with mountain gorillas. Buhoma sector will be your starting point, and the park official will brief you before you set off. At Buhoma, you will track any of the habituated groups, and the official will be allocating a family to you. While on the 2-6 Buhoma gorilla trek, you will be expected to observe all the rules as briefed to you in the morning.
Visitors will enjoy a maximum of one-hour, mainly to observe how gorillas interact/socialize, behave, and also take photographs. Return from visiting Buhoma gorilla groups and have a leisurely lunch late afternoon. After, you will spice up the day with the Batwa cultural safari experience.

Day 7: Bwindi-Entebbe, en-route photography at the Equator.
After the morning breakfast, you will leave Buhoma for Entebbe. Drive via Mbarara with en route lunch to be enjoyed in one of the restaurants or hotel, and continue up to the Equator crossing, then final journey to Entebbe.
